Ceremony with a view – Mediterranean charm in the heart of Cortijo María Luisa, Nerja.

My personal favorites – from a DJ’s perspective

The Costa del Sol is one of the most beautiful places in Europe to get married. With sunshine almost all year round, sea views, whitewashed villages, elegant villas and rustic fincas, it's a dream setting for destination weddings.

I regularly work with couples from all over Europe who choose this region – from Nerja to Marbella and the inland hills. In this post, I’d like to share some of my favorite venues, not just for their looks, but from a DJ’s perspective – based on atmosphere, logistics and how well the flow of a wedding works at each one.

1. Villa La Roca, Nerja

A private villa with stunning views of the sea – peaceful, elegant and full of charm.Perfect for open-air ceremonies, sunset dinners and dancing under the stars.

Why I love it:

  • plenty of space for sound, lights and dancing

  • good natural acoustics, even outdoors

  • flexible setup – no venue restrictions

2. Finca Almodóvar, Frigiliana

Tucked away in the hills above Nerja, this finca offers rustic elegance with olive trees, stone walls and breathtaking valley views.

DJ advantages:

  • beautiful light at sunset

  • easy technical planning

  • music allowed outdoors until late (depending on package)

3. Boho Club, Marbella

A modern, stylish venue for couples who love design and boutique vibes. Top-class cuisine meets laid-back luxury – ideal for elegant international weddings.

From my experience:

  • very professional coordination

  • creative lighting design possible

  • easy access for guests staying in Marbella

4. Beach weddings in Torrox or Estepona

You don’t need a resort for a beach wedding. There are hidden gems and private beach spots that work beautifully for ceremonies or afterparties, often in combination with nearby villas.

Things to consider:

  • wind and power supply must be planned ahead

  • beach setups are more technical – but unforgettable

  • great choice for barefoot weddings with a sunset vibe

5. Cortijo Bravo, Vélez-Málaga

A peaceful countryside hotel with classic Andalusian style and modern comfort. Ideal for couples who want tradition, nature and elegance.

DJ perspective:

  • separate areas for ceremony, dinner and party

  • great setup options for sound and light

  • relaxed and professional team on site

6. Cortijo María Luisa, Nerja

One of the most popular venues for international weddings near Nerja. Mediterranean flair, open spaces, palm trees and a family-run vibe make it truly special.

Why it works well for DJs:

  • easy access for technical setup

  • large outdoor area for dinner and dancing

  • experienced staff and smooth event flow

Final Thoughts about the best Wedding Venues

There’s no one “best” wedding venue – only the one that fits your vision, your style and your energy. As a DJ, I see weddings from a slightly different angle: I look at how smoothly a day runs, how the spaces flow, and how the atmosphere builds with music and light.

If you’re planning a wedding on the Costa del Sol and still exploring options, I’m happy to share honest recommendations and ideas – no pressure, just support.
