This destination wedding at Casa Guardiola brought family and friends from the United States, the United Kingdom and Spain together for a late-night celebration in Seville.

The couple travelled from the USA, part of the family was Spanish, and the international guest list gave the dancefloor its own character from the very beginning.

My role was focused on the party: opening the dancefloor with the couple’s first dance at midnight and playing until 4 AM. The music moved from the Bee Gees into Bad Bunny, reggaeton, Latin favourites, Caribbean rhythms and international party records.

Casa Guardiola: A Wedding Venue With a Strong Sense of Seville

Casa Guardiola dates from 1880 and stands at Puerta de Jerez in the centre of Seville. Its arches, tiled details, internal courtyards and richly decorated rooms give the venue a character that could not be confused with a generic event space.

Dinner and speeches took place beneath the ornate arches of the courtyard. The guests were surrounded by historic architecture, warm lighting and long dinner tables before the atmosphere changed for the late-night party.

The different areas of Casa Guardiola allowed each stage of the wedding to feel distinct. Dinner remained elegant and relaxed, while the dancefloor later developed into a completely different experience. That change of space and energy worked especially well for this celebration.

Working With the Renata Enamorada Team

The wedding was planned with the Sevilla-based Renata Enamorada team. From my perspective as the DJ, the communication around the timing of the first dance and the opening of the party was clear and professional.

This matters at a destination wedding. The couple is often organising important details from another country, while the venue, wedding planner and suppliers are working locally in Spain.

Clear coordination gives the couple more freedom to enjoy the celebration and allows the party to begin without an awkward pause or uncertainty.

From the Bee Gees to Bad Bunny

At midnight, the couple opened the dancefloor with “How Deep Is Your Love” by the Bee Gees. It was a warm and timeless first dance that brought everyone’s attention to the couple.

The transition into Bad Bunny immediately changed the mood. The formal part of the evening was over, the guests moved forward and the party started properly.

That contrast suited the wedding: an elegant historic venue, a romantic first dance and then a modern international celebration. It also gave guests from different countries a natural way onto the dancefloor.

Reading an International Dancefloor

With guests from the USA, UK and Spain, the music could not be built around one country or one generation.

The aim was not to play a random collection of universally known wedding songs. It was to connect the different parts of the room while keeping the couple’s musical identity at the centre.

The set moved through Bad Bunny, Daddy Yankee, Farruko, Sean Paul, Elvis Crespo and the Gipsy Kings, alongside carefully chosen international favourites. Tracks including “Gasolina,” “Pepas,” “Get Busy,” “Temperature,” “Tití Me Preguntó” and “Suavemente” all had their moment during the night.

I prepared the music around the couple’s preferences, but I did not follow a rigid running order. I watched which rhythms and records brought people forward and adjusted the direction of the set live.

At an international wedding, that flexibility is essential. One song may connect immediately with the Spanish family, while the next creates a moment for friends arriving from the United Kingdom or the United States.

The strongest point is when those groups stop feeling separate and become one dancefloor. That is what happened at Casa Guardiola.

A Seville Wedding Party Until 4 AM

The first dance at midnight was not the end of the schedule. It was the beginning of four hours of dancing.

The historic courtyard surroundings, evening lighting and international crowd gave the party an atmosphere that felt unmistakably connected to Seville.

The energy stayed strong through the final hour. At 4 AM, “Dog Days Are Over” by Florence + The Machine brought everyone together for one last uplifting moment before the lights came up.

It was a fitting ending: guests from three countries, different generations and different musical backgrounds finishing the night together.

Planning a Destination Wedding at Casa Guardiola

A destination wedding at Casa Guardiola needs more than a list of favourite songs.

The timing between dinner, speeches, the first dance and the late-night celebration should be coordinated in advance, while the DJ still needs enough freedom to respond to the guests.

For international couples, it is also important to work with suppliers who understand mixed guest lists. Music that works perfectly for one group may not automatically connect with another.

Good preparation defines the couple’s musical direction. Experience on the night turns that direction into a dancefloor.

I am based in Nerja and provide personalised DJ and music-planning services for international weddings across Andalucía. I am available for selected destination weddings in Seville where the couple values thoughtful music selection, clear preparation and a party shaped around their guests rather than a standard playlist.

If you are planning a wedding at Casa Guardiola or another venue in Seville, tell me about your date, venue and musical ideas.

Let’s create a celebration that feels personal from the first dance to the final song.
